The first surgery I ever had done Doctor Barnwell did it and his words was accurate. He told me exactly what day my pain would be gone and it was true. I know he will be missed by many. I haven't seen him since he did my surgery back in the eary 80s.

Doctor Barnwell was my Doctor about 50 years ago and also my Granddaddy's Doctor whom he thought very highly of. Dr. Barnwell was very well-known, honored, respected and loved in New Bern and surrounding areas, especially the African American communities. He was an exemplary Physican.
